Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. In the following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. It was announced on December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. The track was accompanied by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In December 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
